Addiotional Information: On June 26, 1921 Violette Szabo was born at Levallios-Perret, France. Born to an English father and a French mother. Her original name was Violette Reine Elizabeth Bushell. In the earliest part of her childhood, Violette grew up with her four brothers at their aunt's house in Picardy. Her parents, Charles and Reine had moved to London because of the Great Depression in England. At the age of eleven, though, Violette and her family were reunited and settled in a house in Stockwell, England. Violette grew up a tomboy due to the fact that she grew up with four brothers and mostly male cousins, so she had adapted skills for athletics and shooting, a skill which would come in handy later in her life. Another skill that Violette learned early on in her life that came in handy was her fluency in French.

This is a hand painted mural of Violette's life. It is located in Stockwell, England. Violette's family had lived in Stockwell before she joined the SOE and became a spy.
