
Violette's heroic acts became so well known around the world. Many books were written on Violette's life, one of which was a book called "Carve Her Name with Pride" by R.J Minney. In 1958 this book was turned into a movie which starred Virginia McKenna as Violette Szabo.
Additional Information: Violette is one of the SOE's most famous spies. Several books had been written about Violette, such as R.J Minney's "Carve Her Name with Pride", "The Life That I Have" by Susan Ottaway, and "Young, Brave, and Beautiful" by Violette's own daughter, Tania Szabo. In 1958, R.J Minney's biography was turned into a movie, "Carve Her Name with Pride." The movie starred Virginia McKenna as Violette Szabo. In 1981, a blue plague was placed at Violette's home at Burnley Road in Stockwell. Violette is commemorated at Ravensbruck Concentration Camp with another plague. There are several other places where people honor her bravery. Also in 2009, she was chosen to be the face of the SOE. Finally, in Herefordshire, there is an entire museum dedicated to Violette Szabo.
